The Communication Agency appoints a new chairman

Communications agency Muckle Media has appointed Iain Valentine as its first non-executive chairman.

He brings over 25 years of leadership and agency development experience to the company, and his appointment follows the recent promotion of former Muckle Media creative leader Jacquelyn Whyte to director of creative thinking and business development.

Valentine spent 17 years as creative director, co-owner and managing partner of Edinburgh-based digital agency Whitespace. It has a proven track record of growth, having led a managed buyout and subsequent external acquisition by Dentsu.

In 2020, Valentine became CEO of Isobar UK, Dentsu’s experience and transformation agency, responsible for over 400 people and £24m in revenue. He was most recently Group Managing Director of Dentsu Creative before stepping down in 2022 to pursue a portfolio career.

As non-executive chairman, Valentine will drive Muckle Media’s strategic direction, using his experience to support the agency’s growth plans.

Nathalie Agnew, founder and managing director of Muckle Media, said: “We really look forward to working with Iain as we continue to develop an exciting, influential and creative agency that helps leave the world in a better place.

“Iain’s impressive track record in leading the development of Whitespace means he has overcome many of the challenges agencies face and identified and pursued many growth opportunities, so his insights will be invaluable.”

Valentine commented: “I am incredibly excited to be taking on this new role as part of the progressive and dynamic leadership at Muckle Media.
