Opening speech by United States Ambassador Henry Jardine during the 2nd edition of Mauritius Sunshine Week

SolarQuarter was proud to host the 2nd edition of The Solar Week Mauritius 2024 at the Royal Green Wellness Resort in Moka, Mauritius on May 16, 2024. This landmark event attracted over 150 participants, including industry leaders, experts and stakeholders from the renewable energy sector.

The event, supported by gold partner Jinko Solar, session partners JA Solar and Huawei, exhibition partner MSC and association partner MARENA (Mauritius Renewable Energy Agency), highlighted the key role of solar energy in sustainable development.

A highlight was the opening remarks delivered by Henry Jardine, United States Ambassador to the Republic of Mauritius and the Republic of Seychelles. Ambassador Jardine emphasized the key importance of renewable energy in the fight against global climate change. He highlighted the strong and enduring partnership between the United States and Mauritius in promoting sustainable development initiatives.

Ambassador Jardine praised the collective efforts and innovative progress made in the solar energy sector. He stressed the need for continued investment and international cooperation to sustainably meet the world’s growing energy demand. His remarks set a positive and forward-looking tone for the event, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions.

The event included two dynamic panel discussions that delighted the audience. The first panel, “Innovations driving the development of large-scale photovoltaic projects”, focused on the latest trends, emerging technologies and opportunities in this field, with a particular focus on the integration of energy storage solutions. The second panel, “Pushing the boundaries of rooftop solar,” was devoted to innovative design models and advanced technologies for rooftop photovoltaic systems, also highlighting the role of energy storage. These sessions brought together distinguished experts who shared insightful perspectives on the future of solar energy, making the discussions both engaging and thought-provoking.
