S2C and Sirius Wireless are collaborating on the Wi-Fi 7 RF IP verification system

SAN JOSE, CA, May 28, 2024 /PRNewswire/ – Sirius Wireless has partnered with FPGA prototyping specialist S2C to develop a Wi-Fi 7 RF IP verification system, improving workflow efficiency and reducing time to market for customers.

Wi-Fi 7 is the latest Wi-Fi technology, offering speeds of up to 30 Gbps, which is approximately three times the peak performance of Wi-Fi 6. However, Wi-Fi 7 sets rigorous standards for chipset designers and RF IP vendors, requiring superior capabilities 320 MHz and 4096-QAM support, including faster, quieter ADC/DAC converters, sophisticated RF designs and complex baseband processing.

Using the Prodigy S7-9P S2C logic system, Sirius Wireless performs comprehensive verification and testing of RF performance metrics such as throughput, receive sensitivity and EVM. They then leveraged Prodigy Prototype Ready IP, S2C’s ready-to-use daughter cards and accessories for connecting to digital MAC devices, offering an end-to-end RF to MAC verification solution to overcome the RF design nightmare, accelerating their time to market by shortening the chip verification cycle .

A wide range of S2C prototyping tools, including a suite of productivity software, debugging solutions and daughter boards, enable designers to accelerate functional verification by quickly building a prototyping environment. In addition, the Prodigy S7-9P Logic System also serves as a pre-tape demo platform to showcase and help them start software development early. An example of these benefits is Sirius’ development of the Wi-Fi6 IP address verification system. With this system, one of Sirius’ short-range wireless chip design customers spent just three months completing a pre-silicon hardware performance analysis and performance benchmark. The company thus shortened the production verification time and the product introduction cycle to customers, significantly improving efficiency by over 40%.

Sam Chu, VP of Marketing at Sirius Wireless, states: “We have a long-standing partnership with S2C, collaboratively providing our customers with end-to-end verification solutions from RF to MAC. Following our successful collaboration on Wi-Fi 6, we are confident in the development of S2C’s Prodigy system for Wi-Fi 7. Its mature performance, user-friendly operation and extensive validation experience reinforce our high expectations for Wifi-7 products.

“S2C aims to increase the market competitiveness of partners,” he said Ying Chen, vice president of sales and marketing at S2C, “Sirius Wireless excels in the RF IP space by being the only company with TSMC’s advanced processes and Wi-Fi 7 RF design expertise. S2C is excited to partner with them to breathe new life into the entire industry.”
