The acquisitions include two development-stage renewable energy projects located in PacifiCorp’s Pacific Northwest operating area, as well as mid-stage development assets in Northeast New York:

Jinko
  • Cedar Ridge: A 300 MWac solar project coupled with a 150 MW (600 MWh) energy storage facility located in Blaine County, Idaho. This joint solar and energy storage project is expected to meet growing demand and support the regional grid in line with PacifiCorp’s resource planning forecasts.
  • Remington: A 199 MW, 4-hour (796 MWh) battery energy storage system (BESS) located in Marion County, Oregon. This project aims to provide flexible clean energy in response to regional demand fluctuations while minimizing its impact on existing land use.
  • Priest: A 100 MWac solar project located in Washington County, New York. Tailored to meet growing demand in the NYISO market, this project expands RWE’s footprint in the state and underscores the company’s commitment to clean energy in New York.

Hanson Wood, development director, renewable energy sources at RWE Clean Energy, expressed excitement about the acquisitions, particularly the Remington and Cedar Ridge projects. Wood highlighted expansion into the Pacific Northwest market, highlighting the projects’ potential to provide clean energy, create jobs and stimulate the local economy.

John Clifford, Chief Revenue Officer at Galehead Development, LLC, commented on the importance of the transaction, appreciating the cooperation with RWE and the project’s contribution to the development of renewable energy initiatives.

RWE currently boasts plans to develop 36 gigawatts (GW) of onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the US. This expansion is in line with RWE’s strategic goal to grow its renewable energy portfolio from over 9 GW of net installed capacity today to over 19 GW of net installed capacity by 2030.

As the United States is a key component of RWE’s Growing Green strategy, the company aims to significantly increase its global green technology capacity to over 65 GW by 2030, with the United States accounting for 30% of its global green portfolio by the end of 2030. decade.
