Do you already have Find My Device for Android? (Vote)

Google started rolling out the Find My Device network for Android back in April, but not everyone has it. Do you?

The Find My Device network uses Android devices around the world to help you find your phone, headphones and AirTag trackers without the need for an additional cellular connection. Apple has offered a network that works the same way on iOS, but it’s not cross-platform, much like the hugely popular and useful AirTag tracker.

Google announced on April 8 that the Find My Device network will officially launch. This comes after a nearly year-long delay while Google waited for Apple to implement detection of unwanted trackers in iOS – something Apple didn’t do for Android when it released AirTag. This long-awaited protection finally arrived with the iOS 17.5 update earlier this month.

However, on April 8, Google only announced that the Find My Device service was starting to be rolled out in the US and Canada. Google says the solution will become global over time, but there’s no strict timeline. Even now, the network is not available to everyone, even to many in the initial regions of the US and Canada.

Google seems to be picking up the pace over the past week as more and more users see the web working on their devices. This is very likely in preparation for trackers to begin shipping.

You can check if you have a network on your device. Open the “Find Device” app, tap your profile picture, then tap “Settings Find My Device.” From there, you’ll know if the network is active if you see the “Find your offline devices” option and the menu that displays with it, as shown below.

If you don’t have the network yet, be sure to accept any app or system updates. Google provides this as a server-side update, so you shouldn’t need any other updates, but generally it helps to install the latest version available.

Google will also send you an email and, in most cases, a notification when the network becomes available to your devices.

Let us know if Find My Device is available to you in the survey below.
