Outdoor clothing company Innerleithen is planning expansion

Borders, a company specializing in sustainable outdoor clothing for women, has received support to expand its business.

FINDRA – founded in 2014 by award-winning fashion designer Alex Feechan – has raised £300,000 of additional funding from its existing investors.

We hope that this number will be doubled thanks to crowdfunding.

The company intends to use the money to increase turnover, develop new products and expand its own e-commerce team.

FINDRA is based in Innerleithen and Ms Feechan said demand for its products was growing.

“We’re seeing more and more people of all ages wearing outdoor clothing every day,” she said.

“They are looking for versatility, functionality and style, elements already included in every product in the FINDRA offer.”

But she said building the brand wasn’t an “overnight task.”

“This new investment will enable FINDRA to focus on the triple bottom line of people, place and planet, growing our customer community in a thoughtful way.”

She said there is still “a long way to go and a lot of work to be done” to increase business.

“Likewise, we are different from many different businesses in that the combined impact of the pandemic and recent economic conditions has impacted us in different ways,” she said.

“It’s no wonder that retailer habits have changed in recent years.

“We are seeing some shift away from the fast fashion trends of the last decade towards high-quality and classic pieces that are more durable but also have a positive impact on our society.”
