Canada’s antitrust authority will investigate the aviation industry

OTTAWA, May 27 (Reuters)Canada’s antitrust watchdog said Monday it was preparing to begin investigating competition in the country’s airline industry, citing issues such as a concentrated market, relatively high airfares and passenger complaints.

The study would allow the regulator to better understand the causes of these problems and make recommendations to all levels of government to improve competition in the aviation industry, the Competition Bureau said in a statement.
