Operation New Blood will introduce two Operators to Rainbow Six Siege

The second season of Year 9 Rainbow Six Siege it’s about Operation New Blood. The highlight is the introduction of the Recruit remaster, which creates two new Operators to fill this role. The attacker is on offense and the Guardian is on defense. While these former recruits won’t have their own unique gadgets, they do have a unique ability that can bring two different bonus gadgets and unlock the potential of some electrifying combos for added fun.

Striker and Sentry can do much more than their predecessors. Each of them can be selected in ranked play, and players can customize their appearance with the usual range of cosmetics. Some of them will be available in the new Operation New Blood battle pass. As already mentioned, both of them will not have unique gadgets. Instead, each of them can choose two additional gadgets to bring to the fight.

In crime

For Striker, for example, this means that the Operator can realize an attacker’s dream of opening an electrified wall on their own by firing Impact EMP grenades along with a hard breaching charge. They can even carve their own path to the target with a breach charge and then cover their own flank with a claymore. Then, for each additional gadget that the attacker can choose, the attacker can choose two, as long as they are not the same item.

The best defense

In terms of defense, the Sentinel can do almost the same thing, although the selection is made from a completely different pool of gadgets. For example, players can focus on hiding from attacking drones by acquiring a surveillance lock and then placing a bulletproof camera nearby to further deter prying eyes. They can also create very dangerous situations by placing strategic proximity alarms and then hiding nearby with a nitro cell to surprise unwary attackers.

Flexibility is the key

The thing to remember is flexibility. This is because Sentry and Striker provide opportunities in solo and team utility compositions that were not previously available. Each of them brings with them quite comprehensive equipment.

When attacking, the Striker uses an M4 assault rifle or M249 light machine gun as its primary weapon. The secondary weapon is the 5.7 USG pistol or the ITA 12S shotgun. For defense, the Sentry has the Commando 9 assault rifle or the M870 shotgun at its disposal. Second place is the C75 Auto submachine gun or the Super Shorty shotgun.

What do you think about these two new Operators? Operation New Blood also introduces changes to the dual defender balance, which you can learn more about here.
