Education sector has been polluted under Congress rule, says state BJP president

BJP state president BY Vijayendra said that the education sector in Karnataka was polluted after the Congress came to power and took arbitrary decisions without caring about the future of students.

Addressing a public meeting organized at the PDA Engineering College auditorium in Kalaburagi on Tuesday as part of his party’s campaign for the Legislative Council elections, the BJP leader said that the Congress government in the state has rejected the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create a stronger India.

“The Narendra Modi-led Union government has introduced the new National Education Policy 2020 with a clear vision to bring India at par with the most developed countries of the world. He said Karnataka was the first state in the country to implement it.

“However, the Congress government in the state has decided to scrap this policy and go back to the old education policy, which will create chaos in the education sector. This will affect the children’s future. People must understand that the Congress has no vision for the education sector or concern for their children,” Mr. Vijayendra said and appealed to the graduates to vote for the party’s candidate in the North East Graduates Legislative Council Amarnath Patil constituency.

Mr. Vijayendra said that the BJP, whether in power in the state or at the Centre, has worked hard to make revolutionary strides in the education sector, not only by providing the required funds but also by encouraging the learning and teaching community to engage in research activities.

“BS Yediyurappa, when he was the chief minister, allocated ₹ 16,866 crore for the education sector. Although he was known as a farmer leader, he founded over 1,000 secondary schools and 50 polytechnics across the state. He increased the honorarium of guest lecturers from ₹16,000 to ₹30,000,” he said.

“Before the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government came to power at the Centre, there were only 385 medical colleges. Currently, the number is 704. The number of medical posts has increased from 50,000 during the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government to 1.07 lakh during the NDA government. The annual allocation for the education sector has crossed Rs 1.12 lakh crore. In this way, the BJP is working for the development of education. You cannot expect similar commitment and work from those who contest elections in the name of self-development,” Mr. Vijayendra said.

Former minister Murugesh Nirani said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India will move from an underdeveloped country to a developed country.

“We all must support Mr. Amarnath Patil, the BJP candidate for North East Graduates constituency, to strengthen Mr. Modi’s hands. I appeal to all of you to vote for Mr. Patil first,” he said.

Mr. Patil recalled how he worked tirelessly for the development of the Kalyana Karnataka region as a member of the Legislative Council and appealed to the graduates to vote for him to continue his work.

“I appeal to all the graduates from this constituency to vote for me so that I can be elected as a member of the Council and raise issues related to Kalyana Karnataka there. There are many vacancies left in various departments in the region and I will fight with the government to fill them,” he said.

Legislators Basavaraj Mattimadu, Avinash Jadhav, Shashil G. Namoshi, N. Ravikumar and BG Patil, party leaders P. Rajiv, Shivaraj Patil Raddewadagi, Chandu Patil, Dattatreya Patil Revoor, Baburao Chauhan, Doddappagouda Patil Naribol, Krishna Reddy, Suresh Sajjan and others where Gift.
