The best devices in XDefiant ranked and explained

When building your XDefiant setup, you’ll want to find the best device to go with it. These are all gadgets that can either confuse the enemy or completely blow them up.

There are only five device options currently available in the game, and knowing which ones are the best is key to building the best set possible.

That’s why we’ve prepared a list of the best XDefiant devices and their relative rankings.

5. EMP grenade

The EMP Grenade is a great tool that will destroy or stop any enemy abilities or devices that have been deployed. When used properly, this skill is a useful tool that can turn the tide of battle.

However, this is only effective if there are devices or abilities in the area that allow countering. For this reason, its use is a bit niche, which makes it rank lowest on the list. It’s good to have it in your back pocket in case the enemy has any devices they need to take out or abilities they want to interrupt.

You can unlock the EMP grenade via Deals 400 damage to enemy equipment via devices.

4. Flash grenade

Next on this list is the Flash Grenade, which, when thrown, causes enemies to see a blinding white light and dull their hearing, giving you a chance to defeat them while defenseless.

Much like an EMP grenade, when used properly it gives you a huge advantage in a gunfight.

However, it’s still not enough to become dominant in XDefiant, and unless the grenade explodes right in front of the enemy, it won’t get its full effect. The flashbangs in this game are a bit more sophisticated than in other games in the genre, and someone has to look at them directly for them to work.

To unlock a flash grenade, you will have to kill 20 enemies suffering from the status condition.

3. Sticky pomegranate

Now we enter the world of damage with sticky grenade devices. This device will stick to any surface it is thrown at before exploding, dealing pain to nearby enemies.

You can even stick it to the target so it can’t avoid the explosion. If you develop enough accuracy, you can become an absolute monster with the sticky grenade.

To unlock the sticky grenade you will do this you need to inflict 25 status states on enemies in the game.

2. Fragmentation grenade

Despite being the default device in the game, the frag grenade is a great option. It is versatile and easy to use, while still allowing you to easily clear a target or room.

Sure, you’ll need to master cooking so you don’t give your targets time to escape, but it’s not hard.

The Frag Grenade is available immediately after starting the game.

1. Proximity mine

Proximity Mine is at the top of this list of XDefiant devices because of how nerve-wracking it is to encounter an enemy. It is a device that can be placed anywhere and waits for an enemy to run past before detonating.

Its explosion can also kill in an instant with its powerful impact. It’s really hard to avoid it once you realize you’ve triggered it and that’s why it’s so good. And if you’re a sniper hunkered down in one place, this is the perfect defense.

To unlock the proximity mine, you must deal 1000 damage with in-game Devices.
