The head of OIKN reveals that the head of Burj Khalifa is interested in investing in these three sectors

JAKARTA – Head of the Office of the Archipelago Capital (OIKN) Bambang Susantono talked about Emaar Properties’ investment interest in IKN. This follows the visit of a company from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

It is known that Emaar Properties is one of the largest real estate companies in the world, which built the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa. During his visit to IKN, he was accompanied by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir.

Bambang said Emaar was impressed by the new capital megaproject and was interested in participating in its development. However, both parties are still at the negotiation stage regarding the implementation of their investment.

“Yesterday, Mr. Erick also brought this from Emaar. He was also impressed, but we are in negotiations, right,” he said during a meeting with reporters at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Senayan on Tuesday, May 28.

He explained the negotiation process to determine the amount of reimbursement or yield from the project to be implemented in IKN, how much OIKN received and how much Emaar received.

According to him, Emaar is interested in building at least three sectors – energy, transport and real estate. However, the real estate giant is still in the process of calculating to make decisions.

“Emaar is interested in several types. Later, it will calculate what is in the energy, transport and real estate sectors. These are the three that we talked about yesterday, they have not crystallized, yes, it is still in the process,” he said.

Earlier, the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) revealed that the visit of SOE Minister Erick Thohir and UAE Emaar Properties leader Mohamed Alabbar to Nusantara in East Kalimantan resulted in strong interest in investing in IKN.

“Today, the management of Emaar, a real estate and other global industries company from the United Arab Emirates, saw first-hand the progress of IKN development together with the head of OIKN, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises and other officials. “We have demonstrated strong interest from foreign investors in proving development in IKN and we are very interested in considering every opportunity to support the archipelago,” said OIKN spokesman Troy Pantouw.

It is known that OIKN opens the widest opportunities to potential investors, both local, national and foreign.
