13 Netflix settings everyone should know about


Do you love watching Netflix for hours? There’s a lot more you can do with it if you spend a few minutes in the settings section. You can improve your weekend viewing experience by customizing subtitles, home screen previews, download settings, and more. Here are our 11 best Netflix tips and tricks.

Download your shows and movies offline

Like any other popular streaming service, Netflix allows you to download movies and TV shows for offline viewing. Ad-free plans allow you to download up to 100 items per device, while ad-supported plans allow you to download 15 items. If you use the Internet once every 30 days, you can save this media on your device.

To adjust the quality, open the Netflix app, go to your Profiletap on Menu at the top (three horizontal lines), then go to Application settings > Files to download > Video quality. Choose between here Standard Or Higher depending on disk space or network.

Now just tap Charge next to an episode, season or movie to download it. You will find the downloaded media in Files to download section in your Profile a tab where you can watch and delete programs.

Log out of one or any other device

Netflix has an option that allows you to log out of the service from any device. This includes all devices used by all members of your account. So if you want to remove TV access to a friend or someone who is not on your shared plan, this is the place to be.

Click Profile icon and go to Account. Switch to here Devices tab and select Access and devices. Here, find the device you want to log out from and click log out. You can also click Sign out from all devices button to log out all devices simultaneously.

Netflix has an obscure setting that is so oddly worded that it would never be considered related to data collection. By default, Netflix shares privacy-protected contact information with third parties for the purpose of serving ads on third-party services. This must be turned off and is done for individual profiles.

Click Profile icon, go to Accountswitch to Profiles select your profile and go to the tab Privacy and data settings option. Finally, turn it off Allow communication with matched ID function. Repeat this step for all profiles in your account.

But that doesn’t mean you have to start over with the algorithm. Netflix provides a feature called Transfer Profiles that helps you transfer all your data from your old account to your new one.

Open the Netflix website and select your profile. Then click Profile icon at the top and go to Transfer profile. A new wizard will open. Click Start uploading your profile and choose whether you want to transfer your account to a completely new account or to an existing one. Netflix will help you set up a new account with all your details. If you’re transferring your account to an existing account, you’ll need to know your account email address and password. Follow the instructions to transfer your profile to your new account.

Go to your Netflix viewing activity page (you can also get there from Account > Profiles > your profile > Viewing activities).

Click small Hide next to the title you want to remove. Confirm in the next step and the title will disappear from your watch list.

If you watch Netflix on your way to work or have an unstable internet connection, Smart Downloading will definitely help. Once enabled, this will automatically delete completed episodes and replace them with new ones when you reconnect to Wi-Fi. You can also turn on “Download for You,” which automatically downloads content that Netflix thinks you might like. In the Netflix app, go to Profile > Menu > Application settings > Mobile data usage. Turn off here Automatic and switch to Save the data option. Do you find the default subtitles too difficult to read? You can change the font, color and size of the subtitles. On the Netflix website, click the button Profile icon and select Account. Switch to here Profiles and select your profile. Now choose Appearance of subtitles option.

When you watch a foreign language movie, Netflix has a habit of defaulting to English dubbing. Unfortunately, there is no setting that can stop Netflix from doing this, but there is always a way to switch to the original audio in the Netflix player. If you share your Netflix account with friends or family members, your profile isn’t completely private. Others can see what you’re watching and can use your profile and spoil your recommendations.

If you want to protect your profile (especially if you share your account with your children), click Profiles icon and select Account option. Switch to Profiles select your profile and go to the tab Profile lock Section. Enter your account password and enable the option on the next page Require a PIN to access your (user) account. option. Then enter your four-digit PIN and click Rescue button. The next time you launch Netflix, you’ll need to enter this PIN to access your profile.

If you share your Netflix account with your children or teenagers, you may want to block adult content. To do this, go to Profiles bookmark in your Account and select your profile. Here, go to Viewing restrictions section and enter your account password.

You can change the maturity level from the top (7+ to 18+). If you want, you can also turn your current profile into a kids profile, only displaying content that is suitable for kids. At the bottom, you can block a specific TV show or movie. Once you’re done, click Rescue button.
