Atlas Insurance PCC appoints two members of the management board

Atlas Insurance announced the appointment of Marisa Xuereb and Dr. Max Ganado to the Board of Atlas Insurance PCC as independent non-executive directors.

Atlas is based in Malta and, as part of its operations, cooperates with companies dealing with protected cells.

They will take over from Dr Andre Camilleri and Philip Micallef, whose term of office has expired.

Welcoming the nominations, Atlas Insurance expressed its deep gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Camilleri and Micallef for their valuable service and dedication.

Malcolm Booker, president of Atlas Insurance, commented: “The professionalism and qualities of our board members consistently enable the Board of Directors to provide oversight and strategic guidance. Andre and Philip have played a key role in the functioning of our board, for which we express our deepest gratitude to them. We also welcome Marisa and Max, who will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our leadership team.

Xuereb is the former president of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry. As a seasoned business leader with a proven track record in the manufacturing sector and representing business interests in both domestic and international forums, Xuereb has served and continues to serve on the boards of several significant companies.

Dr. Ganado has been practicing law for almost 40 years. Beginning his career as a maritime attorney, Dr. Ganado continued to grow his financial services practice at Ganado Advocates, from which he retired in 2020 as a senior partner. He was heavily involved in drafting new regulations needed to develop Malta as a financial center, including regulations relating to protected mobile companies, derivatives, life insurance and fiduciary obligations.

The appointments, effective from May 2024, were confirmed during the Annual General Meeting of Atlas Insurance, held on May 17.
