After appearing alongside athletes and celebrities in the iOS 17.5 code and in the FCC database for about a month, the next-generation Beats Pill speaker has now been listed on Apple’s European regulatory compliance site.

New Beats Pill for iOS 17New Beats Pill speaker

The original Beats Pill was a wireless Bluetooth speaker released in 2012, before Beats was acquired by Apple. The speaker received several updates during its first few years on the market, with the final version being the redesigned Beats Pill+ with a Lightning charging port, introduced under Apple’s ownership in 2015. Apple discontinued the Beats Pill+ in early 2022, but a new version has arrived now seems to be on the horizon.

The new Beats Pill will likely feature a USB-C charging port, improved Bluetooth, and more. The leaked photos revealed a built-in lanyard that wasn’t available on previous models, as well as red, black and gold color options.

Beats will release new Solo Buds earbuds in June, so perhaps a new Beats Pill will also arrive next month, but Apple has yet to formally announce the speaker. The previous Beats Pill+ was originally priced at $229.95 in the US when it launched in 2015, but was available for $179.95 before being discontinued.
