YouTube offers games for all users

YouTube initially introduced Playables as an exclusive offer for its Premium subscribers. The first phase of the test included fewer games and allowed players only limited gameplay.

In a blog post, YouTube announced that the feature will now be available to all users. To try Playables, simply go to the main YouTube homepage on your computer or in the Android or iOS app.

The platform also shared information that the app can save game progress and track each player’s best performance ever. Popular titles like Angry Birds Showdown, Cut the Rope, Chess Classic and more are now available.

YouTube joins the expansion in the gaming industry

Social media companies are now investing in the development of casual in-app games in addition to their core service. LinkedIn, known for its professional website, has introduced a gaming offer to increase the time spent on the platform.

Streaming giants like Netflix have also added games to their app to encourage people of all ages to spend more time on the app. The company continues to expand its exclusive game collection through various partnerships with game developers.

YouTube Playables is currently expanding its availability to more users. The company announced that it could take several months before the feature becomes available to all users.

YouTube is currently encouraging early adopters to share their opinions and ideas on how to improve gaming features. This could be an indication that Playables will be one of the platform’s long-term commitments.
