REIC takeover in Colorado featured in International Rental News

Miami-based Holding Equipment Investment Corp (REIC) recently acquired Indian Peaks Rental, a full-service general rental company based in Tabernash, Colorado. This marks the REIC’s eighth additional acquisition since its acquisition by private investment firm Kinderhook in 2022, and its 20th acquisition overall since its formation in 2014.

While financial details of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition of Indian Peaks is seen as strengthening the REIC’s regional presence in the Mountain West. Greg Gallagher, CEO of REIC, emphasized that this move enhances their ability to respond quickly to customer needs, aligning with their customer-first value proposition.

Joe Penn, owner of Indian Peaks, expressed optimism about the acquisition, stating that the combined resources and reach of the companies position Indian Peaks to capitalize on growth in the region. Paul Cifelli, managing director of Kinderhook, emphasized that Indian Peaks is strategically positioned to benefit from growth and capital investment at Winter Park Ski Area.

Kevin Fitzgerald, Executive Chairman of REIC, commented on the acquisition, stating that the addition of Indian Peaks to their overall equipment rental network will create favorable conditions for future growth. He also mentioned the company’s continued focus on acquisitions and fleet expansion to ensure organic growth.

Caldera Law played a key role as legal counsel to the REIC during the acquisition of Indian Peaks Rental. This development highlights REIC’s commitment to strategic expansion and further strengthens their position in the equipment rental industry.
