Apple is working on a game subscription service for gadgets – Bloomberg

NEW YORK, March 25 (Reuters) – Apple Inc, which is set to unveil a TV and movie streaming service on Monday, is also working on a game subscription service for its App Store, Bloomberg reported on Monday, citing people with knowledge of the plans.

The gaming service won’t challenge new cloud streaming offerings like Alphabet Inc.’s Google Stadia. Instead, it will focus on iPhones and iPads and bundle paid games from different developers that consumers can access for a monthly fee, according to a Bloomberg report.

Hollywood stars are expected to travel to Cupertino, California, home of Apple, to welcome the debut of the revamped Apple TV digital storefront. Apple has commissioned shows from names including Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg.
