Studio Ghibli Releases New Hayao Miyazaki Film Inspired by ‘How’s Moving Castle’

(Source)

Studio Ghibli has released a video promoting the long-awaited opening of the Valley of the Witches, the final part of the park that is scheduled to welcome guests next month.

Exciting fans: The creator of the 15-second clip uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday is Akihiko Yamashita, who provided animation and animation direction for the trailer; Noboru Yoshida, who was responsible for the artistic setting; and legendary Ghibli director Hayao Miyazaki, who created the storyboard for the ad.

Miyazaki, Yamashita and Yoshida worked together on Ghibli’s Howl’s Moving Castle, which apparently inspired their latest Ghibli Park trailer. According to Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki, Goro Miyazaki, the elder Miyazaki’s son and Ghibli Park’s chief designer and director, reportedly asked his father to produce the ad.

What is it about: The clip shows a fun, moving castle, similar to the one in “Howl’s”, with a gold plaque in front of it that reads “Ghibli Park” in Japanese.

In addition to the board on the moving castle, there are also banners reminding fans that reservations for the park can only be made at the front, and new ticket pools will be available every 10th of the month on the back.

Catching up: Originally planned for 2020, Ghibli Park, located within the Aichi Expo Memorial Park in Nagakute, Aichi Prefecture, began welcoming guests on November 1, 2022. About a year later, the park opened one of two highly anticipated areas: Mononoke Village, on November 1, 2023.
