Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: FMCG stocks rise as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks ended Wednesday’s session lower.

Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd. (up 7.68%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd. (up 4.95%), ADF Foods Ltd. (up 4.29%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd. (up 3.31%), Gillette India Ltd. (up 2.91%), Zydus Wellness Ltd. (up 2.67%), Mrs. Bectors Food Specialties Ltd. (up 1.90%), Adani Wilmar Ltd. (up 1.82%), Honasa Consumer Ltd. (up 1.78%) and Umang Dairies Ltd. (up 1. 76%) were among the people who gained the most.

Hatsun Agro Products Ltd. (down 8.60%), Varun Beverages Ltd. (down 2.71%), Dabur India Ltd. (down 2.69%), Dodla Dairy Ltd. (down 2.56 %), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (down 2.36%), Patanjali Foods Ltd. (down 2.34%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 2.22%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd. (down 1.77%), Emami Ltd. (down 1.60%) and Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd. (down 1.20%) were among the biggest losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the session down 183.46 points at 22,704.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex ended down 667.55 points at 74,502.9.

Hindalco Industries Ltd. (up 3.53%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (up 1.57%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (up 1.28%), Nestle India Ltd. (up 1 .0%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (up 0.96%), Cipla Ltd. (up 0.96%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (up 0.9%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd . (increase by 0.68%), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. (up 0.6%) and ITC Ltd. (up 0.46%) were among the Nifty top gainers. While HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. (down 2.87%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. (down 2.62%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 2.22%), ICICI Bank Ltd. ( down 2.22%), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (down 2.18%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (down 2.01%), Axis Bank Ltd. (down 2.0%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (down 1.86%), Grasim Industries Ltd. (down 1.63%) and UltraTech Cement Ltd. (down 1.53%) closed in the red.
