Salesforce introduces new Commerce Cloud features to make online shopping easier

Salesforce unveiled three new Commerce Cloud innovations aimed at improving the online shopping experience. These features include Salesforce Checkout, headless commerce capabilities for B2B, and composable commerce enhancements for B2C. These improvements promise to increase revenue while offering a personalized customer experience.

With 32% of customers abandoning brands after one bad experience, companies are under pressure to deliver consistent, connected and data-driven e-commerce experiences. New Salesforce features address these challenges, helping B2B and B2C companies increase customer loyalty and reduce cart abandonment.

Payment in Salesforce

Salesforce Checkout offers a unified, one-click checkout platform built on Einstein 1. It provides customers with a consistent experience across multiple channels by integrating with various customer touchpoints. This feature includes payment, tax, and shipping merchant services powered by Stripe. By simplifying the checkout process, Salesforce Checkout aims to increase buyer conversion rates.

Headless commerce for B2B

Salesforce introduces headless commerce capabilities for B2B, enabling developers to quickly build and scale B2B sites using pre-built APIs. This platform allows customization to suit your business needs and integrates with many applications on the Salesforce AppExchange. This approach helps sellers create engaging B2B sites similar to the consumer shopping experience.

Composable commerce for B2C

Composable e-commerce enhancements enable developers to quickly create customized e-commerce solutions using new Salesforce APIs and out-of-the-box personalization features. Features like Product Listing Page (PLP) tiles, sitemap generation, store locator, and Buy Online Pick Up in Store reduce development time and help you tailor your offering to your business needs.

Michael Affronti, CEO and vice president of Commerce Cloud, said: “Commerce companies want to build high-end e-commerce sites that can quickly adapt to changing customer expectations and continue to foster strong customer relationships. With the combined power of data, artificial intelligence and CRM, Commerce Cloud empowers brands to choose the right tool to build great shopping experiences their way.

Salesforce Checkout, headless B2B commerce capabilities, and composable commerce enhancements for B2C will be generally available this summer.
