Greek energy company Mitylineos signed two 10-year PPAs with Keppel DC REIT, a Singapore-based data center investment trust (REIT).

Under the terms of the agreement, Mytilineos will supply renewable energy generated by its solar projects in Ireland to power Keppel DC REIT’s two data centers in Dublin.

The two solar projects, located in Gorey and Goresbridge, will have a combined capacity of 14.28MW and, when completed this summer, will produce enough electricity to offset more than 6,250 tonnes of CO2 per year.

The projects are developed by the M Renewables unit of Mytilineos. Executive Director Nikos Papapetrou said the signing of Mytilineos’ first PPA in Ireland strengthens its presence in the local renewable energy market. Renewables currently cover 92% of Dublin’s total data center energy needs, with two PPAs accounting for approximately 11% of the total.

Gary Watson, country director of Keppel DC REIT (Ireland), said the company was committed to achieving net zero across its Irish operations by 2030, in line with Ireland’s Climate Action Plan.

M Renewables has a portfolio of 4.6 GW across five continents, which increases to approximately 5.7 GW when early and mid-stage projects are included. Mytilineos’ global portfolio is approximately 10 GW.

Ireland’s first large-scale solar PPA announced October 2022.
