The Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission are seeking information on the impact of serial acquisitions and roll-up strategies on competition

The agencies request information on the impact of acquisition strategies on competition throughout the economy, including aftermarket/repair services.

The Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) jointly launched a public investigation on May 23 to identify serial takeovers and roll-up strategies across the U.S. economy that the agency says have led to consolidation and harmed competition.

In a joint request for information (RFI), the agencies request information from the public on serial takeovers in all sectors and industries of the U.S. economy, including, but not limited to, aftermarket/repair, housing, defense, cybersecurity, distribution companies, agriculture, construction and professional services.
