Two new directors at Wingecarribee Council

Wingecarribee County Council has announced the appointment of two new directors to its executive team following a competitive recruitment process.

Mr Michael McCabe brings a wealth of local government experience to the role of Director of Communities and Places. He is currently Director of Infrastructure and Regulatory Services at Mount Remarkable District Council (SA) and was previously Director of City Future at Bayside Council.

Mr. McCabe has extensive experience in planning, property management, asset management and development services and will officially begin his role on July 1, 2024.

Ms. Shelley Jones joins as Director of Corporate Strategy and Resources.

Ms. Jones is an experienced local government specialist with extensive experience in corporate strategy, finance and human resources.

Ms. Jones has served as a director on both Snowy Valley and Edward River Council and will begin her role on August 5, 2024.

“We are delighted to have these two exceptional individuals join our leadership team,” said Lisa Miscamble, chief executive of Wingecarribee Shire Council.

“Their extensive industry knowledge will be a valuable asset and I am confident that together we will continue to drive Wingecarribee Shire Council’s success and deliver positive outcomes for
Community.”

As part of the recruitment process, interviews were conducted by a panel of industry experts, including Mr Gareth Broadrick from Capstone Recruitment, who offered his services pro bono, Anthony McMahon, Chief Executive of Bega Valley Shire Council and Lisa Miscamble, Chief Executive of Wingecarribee Shire Council’ at.

The appointments were announced at the Special Meeting of the Board on 29 May 2024 by the Chief Executive, after consultation with the Board Administrator, Mr Viv May.
