Stock Sectors: Stock Update: Mining Stocks Fall as Market Falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower at 11:25 am on Thursday

The biggest gainers were 20 Microns Ltd. (up 3.63%) and The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd. (up 0.68%).

KIOCL Ltd. (down 3.79%), Oriental Trimex Ltd. (down 3.32%), Pokarna Ltd. (down 3.07%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd. (down 2.25 %), NMDC Ltd. (down 2.17%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd. (down 1.86%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd. (down 1.80%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd. (down by 1.71%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (down by 0.91%) and Lexus Granito (India) Ltd. (down by 0.75%) were among the largest losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index fell 155.05 points to 22,549.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex fell 490.5 points to 74,012.4 at around 11:25 am.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (up 0.78%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (up 0.67%), State Bank of India (up 0.28%), Axis Bank Ltd. (up 0.26 %), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (up 0.07%) and Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (up 0.03%) were among the top gainers on Nifty. On the other hand, Tata Steel Ltd. (down by 4.22%), Titan Company Ltd. (down by 2.97%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (down by 2.67%), Nestle India Ltd. (down by 2, 61%), JSW Steel Ltd. (down 2.31%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down 2.04%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (down 1.86%), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. (down 1.81%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (down 1.65%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. (down 1.55%) were trading in the red.
