Amazon Fire TV devices will soon receive a powerful AI search update

Many Fire TV devices will soon receive an AI-powered search system update. This will allow you to be much more specific when asking for content recommendations from Alexa. You can also ask anything about your favorite shows or movies.

Artificial intelligence is taking the tech industry by storm and no one wants to be left behind. Most large companies are already working on integrating AI into their services in one way or another. Amazon has experimented with this both on its media platforms and in its store. Examples of this are the Rufus shopping assistant or the Fire TV wallpaper generator tool.

Alexa search on Amazon Fire TV devices will receive an AI-powered update

The company has revealed an AI-powered search update for Fire TV devices that could completely change the way you use them. Amazon has developed and patented its own LLM to enhance Alexa’s search capabilities. Now you’ll be able to get more detailed results through complex questions thanks to the generative power of artificial intelligence.

You can ask Alexa to recommend movies or shows that meet specific requirements. The built-in AI model will allow it to understand questions in natural language. For example, as Amazon points out, you can say “Alexa, show me movies about dog-human friendship” or “Show me psychological thrillers with surprise endings.” But not only that, because you can even search for movies and shows with specific quotes. You can use questions like “What movie has the line, ‘You’re killing me, Smalls?'”

Amazon says you can search for content by topic, genre, plot, and quotes. The AI-powered search update is coming “in the coming weeks” to all Fire TV devices running FOS6 and later. It will initially only be available in the US, and there are no details on when it will arrive in more regions.
