TAMRON releases Lens Utility and Lens Utility Mobile version 3.0! Three new features make taking photos easier

Japanese lens manufacturer TAMRON recently launched Lens Utility and Lens Utility Mobile Ver.3.0, offering three new focusing features to improve photographers’ knowledge of taking photos.

The current release of Lens Utility and Lens Utility Mobile software version 3.0 includes improvements to current features and new lens customization options. TAMRON Lens Utility software allows customers to customize TAMRON lens functions on their computer, primarily based on image type, as well as replacing the lens firmware. In November 2022, TAMRON launched the Lens Utility Mobile app for Android, allowing customers to quickly adjust lens settings on the go.

Three new features added in version 3.0 replace the intention to simplify the photo-taking process and improve consumer knowledge. Options include:

  1. Start Delay (Existing Improvements): This feature allows customers to delay the start of the focusing movement after pressing the main focus button, thus avoiding recording vibration or button press sounds when taking photos.
  2. Focus Shift Limit (New Action): Users can now modify the main focus shift when manually focusing while taking photos to stop accidentally overshooting the main focus shift when adjusting the main focus ring.
  3. Astronomical Focus Lock (New Operation): Designed for astrophotography, this feature maintains contact with the stars by setting the main focus level to infinity and locking the operation of the main focus ring to prevent out of focus caused by inadvertent use.

Additionally, Lens Utility Mobile App’s unique feature, Focus on digital monitoring, allows customers to adjust the primary focusing distance between factors A and B and perform focusing functions via the smartphone display, taking advantage of focus monitoring expertise. Moreover, through the app, customers can adjust the rotation route of the aperture and focus rings, advertising models and compensation steps for electric vehicle advertising.

Overall, TAMRON’s replacement of Lens Utility and Lens Utility Mobile with version 3.0 aims to make taking photos easier and more user-friendly for photographers. Additional information can be found on the official TAMRON website.
