Pipeline appoints chief technology officer

STATS Group has appointed Angus Bowie as its new chief technology officer, with immediate effect.

In this global role, he will lead innovation and product development initiatives across the company and work closely with Chief Engineering Officer Doug Krokosz.

A talented design engineer with over two decades of experience at STATS, Bowie will establish a dedicated global development team tasked with accelerating new pipeline solutions while protecting and enhancing the group’s intellectual property.

Chief executive Stephen Rawlinson said: “Angus’ vision and expertise have been key drivers of our success over many years.

“This new leadership position solidifies innovation as a core element of our growth strategy, ensuring we continue to solve the most pressing challenges facing the industry.”

A prolific inventor, Bowie has numerous patents to his credit, including STATS’ BISEP technology, which transformed the hot tapping and wire end insulation market.

“I am delighted to take on this strategic yet hands-on role, developing the next generation of customer-centric solutions that make energy infrastructure more secure and provide our customers with more efficient and more environmentally friendly options than what is currently available on the market,” he commented Bowie.

“STATS’ success is largely the result of listening to our customers and helping them solve their pipeline challenges with innovative technical solutions, and this role further enables us to continue to maintain our leadership in the industry.”
