How Amazon Will Now Offer Grubhub Delivery

Amazon.com will expand its work to include food delivery app Grubhub. The companies announced that this means adding a number of features for Amazon customers. Thanks to the cooperation, all ordering operations will be available to all buyers, and Amazon Prime subscribers will receive special incentives.

Most importantly, the option to enter Grubhub orders will appear for users on Amazon.com. It will also appear in the Amazon Shopping app. Currently available in both contexts, ordering requires both an Amazon account and a Grubhub account to be linked. Orders can then be fulfilled in Amazon environments.

Amazon is ranked No. 1 on the Digital Commerce 360 Top 1000 list of the largest online retailers in North America. It is also ranked third in the Digital Commerce 360 global online marketplace database, which ranks the top 100 such marketplaces by third-party gross merchandise value (GMV).

Access to Grubhub+ for Amazon Prime members

In addition to basic ordering functionality, Amazon is promoting free Grubhub+ features for existing Amazon Prime subscribers. For Prime members, this will mean $0 in delivery fees on orders over $12 and other related savings. Additionally, through June 2, Amazon is offering a one-time $5 discount on a single order over $25.

“Whether it’s saving money on your favorite takeout with Grubhub+, exclusive deals on Prime Day, saving on prescriptions with RxPass, entertainment with Prime Video, or free shipping on over 300 million items, including tens of millions of products in stock on offer Same Day or One Day Delivery in One Day, Prime just keeps getting better for members,” Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime, said in a statement. “We know Prime members value savings on food delivery, so we’re expanding $0 delivery fees and exclusive savings with Grubhub+ to Prime members, and now customers can enjoy easy access to Grubhub from the Amazon store and app.”

Amazon’s previous collaboration with Grubhub

Amazon previously promoted a one-year trial offer for Prime members, which resulted in a paid Grubhub+ membership after the one-year period ended. Under the new terms, no additional paid account will be activated.

“We are excited to build on our successful partnership with Amazon and provide greater convenience to Amazon customers by offering Grubhub’s network of hundreds of thousands of restaurants directly on Amazon.com and in the Amazon Shopping app,” said Howard Migdal, CEO of Grubhub. “More consumers can now experience the exceptional value and service offered by Grubhub+, and Prime members can enjoy $0 delivery fees on an ongoing basis.”

In addition to ordering and access to Grubhub+, Amazon and Grubhub also collaborated on the “Tune In & Takeout” series, recommending food pairings and deals based on TV shows and movies available to watch on Prime Video. Grubhub also recently offered a Nuka-Blast Burger meal as part of the premiere of Prime Video’s “Fallout” television series, based on the video game series of the same name.
