IRSA releases 279,900 cusecs of water

ISLAMABAD, May 31 (APP): Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Friday released 279,900 cusecs of water from various shore stations against an inflow of 321,800 cusecs.

According to data released by IRSA, the water level of the Indus River at Tarbela Barrage was 540.67 feet, which was 70.67 feet higher than the dead level of 1,398 feet. The inflow and outflow of water through the dam were recorded as 1,32,600 cusecs and 120,000 cusecs respectively.

The water level in the Jhelum river at Mangla barrage was 358.35 feet, which was 138.35 feet higher than its dead level of 3,000 meters. Water inflow and outflow were recorded as 54,300 cusecs and 25,000 cusecs respectively.

Water release in Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu and Sukkur was recorded as 193,900, 168,900, 137,000 and 43,100 cusecs respectively. Similarly, in the case of Kabul River, a total of 85,000 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 23,500 cusecs was released from Chenab River at Marala.
