Portable skin protection devices: Portable UV detector

AC Camargo Cancer Center’s launch of a portable UV detector represents a significant step forward in promoting skin health, especially among children and adolescents. Given the World Health Organization’s position on young people’s increased susceptibility to UV rays, this handy accessory provides a practical solution to a growing health problem.

The World Health Organization says that 10 minutes of exposure is enough to cause sunburn. Sunburn as a child greatly increases the risk of developing skin cancer in adulthood. Additionally, UV rays can lead to DNA damage, phototoxic and photoallergic reactions, and weakening of the immune system. Suppression of the immune system is a risk factor for cancer and can cause the reactivation of various viruses.

UV Judge takes an early step in the fight against the effects of UV rays.
