DJI releases a new software update for the Mini 2 SE drone

DJI has released a new firmware update for its most pocket-friendly entry-level drone, the Mini 2 SE.

Drone firmware version 01.00.0500 is now available for download for the less than 250-gram Mini 2 SE, while the DJI RC-N1 firmware package remains unchanged at version 04.11.0400. That said, your DJI Fly app needs to be updated to version 1.13.4, which was recently released with some new and noteworthy features such as AI-powered drone video editing.

According to the release notes provided by DJI, the new Mini 2 SE software adds support for Remote ID requirements in certain countries and regions. Additionally, the update fixes several known issues. This usually refers to updating the normal operating logic of the software or fixing some issues that do not affect the use of the product. Nevertheless, the tech giant recommends updating the software on time for a better experience.

Mini 2 SE is DJI’s cheapest flying camera, capable of recording 2.7K/30 fps videos and 12 MP photos. However, last month DJI released an upgraded version of this drone, calling it the Mini 4K.

DJI Mini 4K can record 4K video at up to 30 frames per second with 2x digital zoom and 2.7K footage at up to 60 frames per second. It also supports video bitrates of up to 100Mbps, which is another improvement over the Mini 2 SE. Read more about Mini 4K here.
