TimesTech: How is AXISCADES expanding its capabilities in margin-generating segments such as wiring harnesses, software testing, ADAS and software-defined vehicles?

Mr. Arun: We are taking steps in this direction both through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. A key move was the acquisition of Germany-based add-solutions GmbH, which strengthened our presence in Europe and the Americas by leveraging the company’s partnerships with major global automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. The company brings extensive expertise in automotive design and development , particularly in the areas of electrical distribution system engineering, software testing and automation – all of which are critical to the development of ADAS and software-defined vehicles. Integration of knowledge and customers about value-added solutions from AXISCADES has increased our market penetration and competitive advantage. Additionally, the acquisition of Mistral Solutions added niche competencies in automotive electronics and ADAS, which creates excellent synergy to comprehensively meet the industry’s requirements. We are also investing in new technology trends beyond our traditional mechanical engineering focus to meet the growing demands in the automotive sector, especially in the areas of electric vehicles and SDV. Our efforts are aimed at maintaining strong relationships with tent customers, ensuring consistently high quality service. These strategic moves are expected to result in significant revenue and margin growth, consistent with our vision of becoming a leading global provider of engineering solutions.

TimesTech: How does the strategic alliance with EPCOGEN strengthen AXISCADES’ presence in the global energy sector?

Mr. Arun: Our strategic alliance with EPCOGEN significantly strengthens our presence in the Middle East and North America. This acquisition expands our capabilities in oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals and renewable energy. EPCOGEN’s expertise in climate-sensitive emissions control, including tail gas treatment plants for refineries and long-term energy storage solutions, aligns perfectly with our development goals.

We anticipate significant growth in the Middle East, expecting to secure major contracts for carbon capture, sulfur capture and large gas storage facilities. This region, currently accounting for 3% of our revenues, is expected to be a key market, with oil and gas opportunities likely to persist for the next 5-7 years before the transition to green energy occurs. Furthermore, we are involved in hydrogen projects and other green energy initiatives, which puts us well positioned to capitalize on current trends in the oil and gas industry.

Through EPCOGEN, we also activate new sources of revenue and reach the brand’s customers in the energy markets. Our strategic partnership goes beyond market penetration, providing cross-selling opportunities and significant diversification benefits. As North America is a leading market for energy engineering services, this alliance also strengthens our presence where the sector is experiencing strong growth.

TimesTech: How does AXISCADES Technologies use Industry 5.0 to combine digitalization with traditional production processes?

Mr. Arun: Industry 5.0 emphasizes employee well-being and sustainable use of resources. It involves humans working in harmony with robots to refine and improve manufacturing processes, powered by artificial intelligence, smart systems, big data analytics, IoT and automation. We have actively adopted these principles, incorporating a people-centred approach, resilience and sustainability into our work. This shift means a shift in approach and priorities from purely economic value to social value, and from well-being to overall well-being. We focus on leveraging dynamic collaboration between humans and machines to transform the manufacturing industry. In this way, we support an environment that prioritizes human input and sustainable practices. We recently implemented a COBOT-related project for one of our aerospace clients and believe that the future of manufacturing lies in the synergy between human creativity and technological progress, driving both innovation and sustainability.

TimesTech: How is AXISCADES revolutionizing the semiconductor segment in terms of design, manufacturing and testing processes?

Mr. Arun: The semiconductor industry is the foundation of modern technology, driving advances in computing, telecommunications, automotive and more. Semiconductor companies, along with related engineering support companies, play a key role in this ecosystem by providing essential services in design, manufacturing, production, and testing and validation.

Leveraging our more than 25 years of experience and expertise in embedded electronics and semiconductor support services, AXISCADES works closely with global semiconductor companies such as Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, NXP and more. We offer end-to-end semiconductor support services covering pre-silicon to post-silicon, including design implementation, validation, software development and platform development. These services make it easier for silicon suppliers to deliver high-performance SOCs and platforms, enabling products to get to market faster to end customers. Our expertise in silicon validation is unrivaled. We work with leading chip manufacturers to validate various SOC attributes, ensuring functionality, performance and reliability.

Additionally, we bridge the gap between chipmakers and product developers by providing cost-effective platforms and solutions for a wide range of embedded product designs, enabling accelerated product development. We have been designing and offering hardware platforms such as evaluation modules, software platforms, reference designs and System on Modules (SOM) for twenty years.

TimesTech: What role is AXISCADES playing in shaping the Indian chip manufacturing ecosystem and what is its future outlook for the industry?

Mr. Arun: AXISCADES looks forward to partnering with SoC companies in India to collaborate on the design of evaluation modules, silicon validation platforms, development platforms and more. This will certainly help chip factories in India bring products to market faster.

We also plan to explore opportunities to collaborate with Indian government agencies, research institutions and academia to facilitate technology transfer and knowledge sharing. Localizing the semiconductor supply chain by sourcing components from Indian manufacturers, wherever possible, will also be one of our goals. This reduces dependence on imports and strengthens the domestic supply chain ecosystem.

By actively contributing to these areas, we look forward to having a strong presence in the chip manufacturing ecosystem in India, driving economic growth, innovation and technological advancement in the country.

Looking ahead, several key trajectories will shape the Indian semiconductor industry. Efforts to establish semiconductor manufacturing plants, supported by government initiatives and private sector involvement, will be crucial and the example of the Dholera manufacturing facility will be outstanding in this regard.

India’s focus on promoting research and innovation will also be key. Collaboration between academia, research institutions and industry leaders is expected to accelerate the development of indigenous chip design and manufacturing capabilities, leading to specialized semiconductor solutions tailored to domestic and global market needs.
