EVANSVILLE, Ind.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Now Berry Plastics Group, Inc. (NYS: BERY) announced the appointment of key executives, emphasizing the Company’s commitment to implementing its strategic plans for global growth. Jeff Thompson, Berry Plastics’ current chief legal officer, will lead the company’s international business development initiatives in his new role as Berry Plastics’ executive vice president of international affairs.

“These changes will provide exciting growth opportunities for our customers around the world,” said Jon Rich, president and CEO of Berry Plastics. “Our initial goal will be to grow with our existing customers in Latin America and Asia by introducing technology-driven value-added products.”

Jason Greene will now lead the Company’s legal organization as its Executive Vice President – General Counsel. Greene most recently served as vice president of legal affairs and general counsel for the company.

“I am extremely pleased that Jeff and Jason have accepted these key positions on our leadership team,” said Jon Rich, president and CEO of Berry Plastics. “Jeff provided outstanding leadership during his nine years with the Company, where he led numerous acquisitions that helped Berry become the company it is today. Additionally, Jason provided excellent legal counsel to our management team as we prepared to become a public company.”

Prior to joining Berry Plastics, Thompson focused his law practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and corporate law. Thompson holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Indiana University and a juris doctor from Indiana University at Indianapolis. He is licensed to practice law in Indiana and Colorado and is a member of the Indiana and Evansville bar associations.

Greene joined Berry Plastics in 2010. Prior to joining the Company, Greene was a business transaction and tax advisor at Taylor English Duma LLP in Atlanta. In the years 1998-2007 he held a similar position at Powell Goldstein LLP, and began his career in the tax practice of Arthur Andersen. Greene holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting and a juris doctor from the University of Florida.
