The Arab-German Economic Forum explores private sector cooperation

Berlin: The 27th Arab-German Economic Forum began on Tuesday in Berlin.

The forum explores ways to strengthen cooperation between the private sector in Arab countries and the Federal Republic of Germany, especially in the sectors of energy, technology, innovation, trade, investment, tourism, culture, education and training.

The conference is organized by the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman, the “Guest of Honor” of the forum, is headed by the Minister of Economy, Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri.

It includes a team from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), headed by Eng. Hamoud Salim Al Saadi, second deputy of the OCCI board.

Al Saadi said that the forum aims to maximize economic relations and exchange knowledge and experiences between the Arab and German sides in order to open new channels of bilateral cooperation.

He emphasized that Oman’s delegation to the forum consists of representatives from the sectors of smart cities, logistics, artificial intelligence, investments in special economic zones and free zones, tourism and supply chains.

For her part, Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Federal Republic of Germany, emphasized the importance of OCCI’s participation in such trade and investment forums.

She added that the Embassy of Oman in Germany is ready to provide all facilities necessary to establish joint commercial projects in cooperation with relevant public and private sector institutions.

The Oman delegation took part in a panel discussion titled: “Investment Opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman.” In a presentation titled “Invest in Oman”, the delegation presented investment opportunities and areas of activity in various sectors of the Sultanate of Oman. -ON
