A new episode of the C-drama will air this week (June 4).

This week (June 4-9, 2024), many popular Chinese dramas will be released with new and entertaining episodes. From a C-grade historical drama Double to a mysterious romance My wife’s double life series with exciting storylines will deliver new episodes. These ongoing shows range from fantasy, romance, thriller and other genres to cater to a diverse audience.

Here is the list of C-rated dramas that will air new episodes this week:

1. The Doppelgänger (Episodes 8–16)

C’s ongoing costume drama Double, starring Wu Jinyan and Wang Xingyue, will release a total of nine episodes during this period. The drama tells the story of Xue Fang Fei (Wu Jinyan), the daughter of a wealthy and learned family, who is stabbed in the back by her husband. When her husband leaves her for dead, she is saved by Jiang Li, the pastor’s daughter. After the unfortunate events that lead to Jiang Li’s death, Fang Fei borrows her name and changes her identity to seek justice and punish those who wronged her.

2. My Wife’s Double Life (Ep. 11–22)

This C-grade historical romance will release a total of 12 episodes this week. It stars Tang Xiaotian and Sabrina Zhuang. The drama tells the story of a legendary thief who marries a strict inspector. Liu Rong (Sabrina Zhuang) is a nice housewife during the day, but at night she becomes a brave thief. Trying to outsmart each other, they both fall in love.

3. Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact (Ep. 25-30)

Fox’s ongoing C-fantasy series Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact starring Gong Jun and Yang Mi will be released this week with six episodes. The drama tells the story of Tushan Hong Hong (Yang Mi), the leader of the Tushan Fox clan, who falls in love with a man Dongfang Yue Chu (Gong Jun). She saves his life and takes him under her wing, despite the resistance of her clan. They soon begin working to establish harmony between spirits and humans, and eventually the two fall in love.

4. Just in Time (Ep. 5–13)

This family drama premiered on June 3, 2024. It is an adaptation of Jiang Li Zi’s novel “Lao Ma You Xi”. The drama tells the story of a group of women helping each other in their struggle to establish their identity and lift each other’s spirits.

Xu Mengan’s (Qin Hailu) whole life turns upside down when her husband loses his job. Moreover, her daughter faces social stigma, and Mengan has to deal with an unwanted pregnancy. Meanwhile, her close friends and sister are also struggling with their own problems. When trying to overcome life’s obstacles, they find support in each other.

In addition to these dramas, Youku’s Love in the Tea Garden will have its season finale on June 6, 2024. In addition, Shuang Mian Fan Hua, Take Me Home, The Last Hero, Year After Year, The Last Cook, Who Kills Him and Nancheng Banquet will continue its weekly series.
