Insurance prisoners bring news

The Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR) has appointed Collin Anderson as director of policy and regulation, effective July 1.

In his new position, Anderson will lead ABIR’s public outreach program and examine developments in international public policy and insurance regulation.

He will report to ABIR CEO John Huff, manage the company’s Hamilton office and serve as corporate secretary.

Anderson brings 23 years of experience in the public and private sectors, including regulatory and supervisory work with the Bermuda Monetary Authority, management positions with the Bermuda Government and roles in the insurance industry.

Commenting on the appointment, Huff says: “Collin’s extensive experience spanning public policy, regulation, legislation, executive management, property and casualty insurance and international affairs makes him an ideal fit for this role.

“I am confident that he will be a great asset to ABIR as we continue to represent the public policy interests of Bermuda’s international insurers and reinsurers.”

Pina Albo, ABIR Chair and CEO of Hamilton, states: “Collin’s high level of technical and leadership skills and his experience in the public and private sectors well prepare him to serve our members.

“The fact that we were able to attract such an ideal candidate locally is a testament to the depth of talent we have in Bermuda.”
