North Sea Energy Infrastructure Plan

Energy transformation

The challenges facing all societies in the transition to a greener economy – and in particular more sustainable ways of producing and distributing energy – are well known. The ambitious Energy Infrastructure Plan for the North Sea (EIPN), focusing on the period 2030-2050, aims to create a future-proof energy system powered by the North Sea, which matches the Netherlands’ ambitious ambitions for a sustainable energy transition.

This initiative is not only about achieving the goals set in the National Energy System Plan (NPE). It’s also about finding a way to turn these goals into practical realities that excite both energy professionals and consumers.

Our role is to advise the government on how EIPN can bring about tangible change in the energy sector. The report we are writing, focusing on the implementation period of the 2030-2050 plan, will be the visible result of a large-scale project involving a team from many areas of our company, in cooperation with other companies dealing with technical consulting. The report will outline the practical steps needed for the Netherlands to achieve its renewable energy goals and serve as a blueprint for other countries to follow suit.
