MREA is currently an accredited training provider for six solar-related roles

The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) has received training provider accreditation for six renewable energy programs from the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). MREA is an accredited training provider for the following renewable energy programs: PV Associate, PV Installation, PV Technical Sales, PV Design Specialist, PV Installer Specialist and PV Commissioning and Maintenance.

The IREC certification is a nationally recognized mark of quality training in the clean energy industry. Students, employers, funders and other interested parties look to the IREC mark to find high-quality training that meets safety requirements and is tailored to industry needs.

“Accreditation is crucial for education organizations like MREA as it certifies compliance with national training and operations standards and therefore enables our courses to be approved for professional qualifications, examination eligibility and continuing education credits. To the outside world, it is a recognition of our competence and legitimacy,” said Jenny Heinzen, director of curriculum at MREA.

As one of the leading accreditors of clean energy training in the United States, IREC’s high standards and rigorous application process require candidates to demonstrate a solid approach to quality in all major areas of training program performance.

As the clean energy economy grows rapidly, employers need to urgently find and hire well-skilled workers. IREC’s credentials help job seekers find high-quality training opportunities that prepare them to enter the clean energy job market, and also help employers identify high-quality training options for their employees.
