Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute in Golden Valley creates devices that make life easier.

“Our main goal is to help the person lead a more independent life,” said Matthew White, an occupational therapist at Courage Kenny.

Brandon St. Germaine from Minneapolis, who uses a wheelchair, is one of the patients who has discovered all the possibilities that the 3D printer program has to offer. If necessary, they can create an adaptive device for this.

“It opens up the possibility of doing more,” St. said. Germaine.

“It’s one thing to have something designed for me, and it’s another thing to take it for granted,” he said.

The program launched in 2019. They have created everything from one-handed nail clippers to keys to card cases. Last year, they printed over 400 adaptive devices for patients.
