Sunbird Messaging is increasing the availability of the beta application to waitlisted users

NEW YORK, June 11, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Sunbird Messaging today announced the expansion of availability of its beta application to waitlisted users. This milestone follows success restart April 5 and highlights Sunbird’s resilience and commitment to continuous development and improvement.

Founded in 2022, Sunbird Messaging has distinguished itself in the technology industry by offering a unique solution to the problem of fragmented messaging platforms. More than 171,000 Android users have joined Sunbird’s waiting list. Starting today, these users will receive invitations in stages, ensuring a smooth, secure and scalable onboarding process. Notably, over 100,000 users have signed up to the waitlist at no advertising cost to Sunbird, highlighting the app’s organic appeal and strong market demand.

The Sunbird beta app initially supports iMessage, with plans to add Google Messages (RCS and SMS) again in the near future. The latest alpha phase of Sunbird showed high user engagement – they spent an average of 11 minutes a day in the application, which makes Sunbird the leader in terms of daily application use. The top 10% of users opened the app approximately 27 times per day, with an average session length of approximately two minutes.

Sunbird’s approach to bridging the communication gap between Android and Apple users is based on security and innovation. Unlike third-party attempts that involved unauthorized access to iMessage, the Sunbird platform provides a secure bridge to communication within the Apple ecosystem. Since the first public announcement of the application in November 2022, Sunbird received widespread media coverage, with tens of thousands of users communicating via iMessage through Sunbird. These relationships and media use have not led to third-party interference, and the company is confident in its method of securely connecting Android and iPhone users.

In addition to excelling from a technical standpoint, Sunbird addresses broader societal challenges that the company believes cannot be solved solely by Apple’s adoption of RCS. The existence of apps like Sunbird Messaging also helps alleviate regulatory challenges such as antitrust scrutiny that tech giants face by promoting an inclusive ecosystem that supports interoperability and open competition among communications hardware and software providers.

Sunbird Messaging continues to strive to offer reliable, secure and unified messaging experiences. The company’s approach not only improves user connectivity, but also positively contributes to the evolving digital landscape by supporting interoperability, security and inclusivity.
