India’s textile sector will grow rapidly under Prime Minister Modi’s third term: NITMA

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins his third term, the North India Textile Industries Association (NITMA) remains unwavering in support of the government’s efforts to position India as a global textile and apparel industry hub. Sanjay Garg, President, NITMA, expressed confidence that India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi will continue to achieve new milestones and pave the way for a better future for all.

Garg stressed the importance of continuing a strong partnership with the government to address industry challenges, including raw material security, infrastructure development and skill development. By working together, sustainable growth can be achieved, contributing to the country’s economic well-being.

In a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his third consecutive term, Garg praised Modi’s visionary leadership for driving progress and development in various sectors of the country. Garg further praised the government’s initiatives such as waiver of duties and taxes on exported products (RoDTEP), rebate on state levies (RoSCTL) and others. Moreover, policy interventions such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) parks and strategic trade agreements have paved the way for creating first-class infrastructure, promoting investment and creating employment opportunities within the textile sector in combined with continuous support for small and medium-sized enterprises, which has significantly strengthened the industry.

On behalf of the entire textile industry, Garg congratulated Prime Minister Modi on this historic achievement. He said Modi’s energetic leadership had played a key role in accelerating India’s development and securing its position as a major player in the global economy.
