GitLab announces expanded integration with Google Cloud for

SAN FRANCISCO, June 12, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — All remote – GitLab Inc.the world’s most comprehensive AI-powered DevSecOps platform, today announced a public beta of expanded Google Cloud integrations that will help developers work smarter, faster and more efficiently.

Integrations combine the comprehensive capabilities of GitLab’s DevSecOps platform, including source code management, scheduling, CI/CD workflow, and advanced security and compliance with Google Identity Access Management, Workload Identity Federation, Google Cloud Artifact Registry, and Google Compute Engine.

With the GitLab platform, joint customers have full visibility into the entire software lifecycle, including integrated Google Cloud services, without context switching between systems.

Key customer benefits of integration include:

  • Improved authentication: GitLab’s integration with Google Identity Access Management and Workload Identity Federation provides customers with centralized authentication and identity management through their existing identity providers, which helps reduce the risk associated with service account keys and minimize the overhead of managing rotating keys.
  • Deploy applications faster on Google Cloud: CI/CD automation with GitLab runner configuration automation and the Google Cloud Services component library in the GitLab CI/CD catalog enables customers to simplify pipeline deployment from within GitLab.
  • Improved development environment: Provide complete visibility into the software delivery process with a unified data plane to minimize context switching and improve developer productivity. Customers can browse their images in the Google Artifact Registry from within GitLab, giving them full traceability of build artifacts across GitLab and Google Cloud.
