Richardson council approves land use and townhouse development rules

Thanks to an updated Richardson zoning map and comprehensive zoning ordinances, new townhome development is moving forward.

The Richardson City Council approved two zoning and ordinance amendments for the 89-unit Park Hollow townhome community during its June 10 meeting.

Two minute punch

The approval is the second part of council’s consent to zoning changes in the city. Richardson council members previously voted to approve a rezoning application to create a planned development district for Park Hollow during their June 3 meeting.

To the north of the gated terraced houses, a retention basin for excess rainwater will be built, which will include a perimeter walking path, park benches and approximately 15 new trees. The 6.5-acre residential development will occupy land previously used by Sting Football Club.

What’s next?

Neil Stenberg, vice president of acquisitions for Skorburg Company, a Dallas-based developer, previously told the council that the contract with Mattamy Homes to build the townhomes is almost complete. No timeline has been set for when the homes will be ready for sale.
