WhatsApp is rolling out new calling features across devices – everything you need to know

WhatsApp is also focusing on improving audio and video quality. The recently released Mlow codec improves call reliability by providing clearer audio and improved noise and echo cancellation. This improvement is especially beneficial for calls made on mobile devices, making them clearer even in noisy environments or with poor network connectivity. For those with faster connections, video calls will now have a higher resolution.

“We will continue to improve WhatsApp calling so that you can make the highest quality private calls wherever you are in the world,” the company added.

Last week at its annual conference in Brazil, WhatsApp introduced new features for businesses. These updates are designed to help companies connect more effectively with their customers and improve their businesses. New AI tools will help companies quickly respond to frequently asked questions and create ads on Facebook and Instagram. Additionally, the Meta Verified badge for businesses will improve account management and protection against impersonation. A one-touch calling feature has also been introduced for larger companies to handle complex customer inquiries more efficiently.
