As Chair, David Collie will lead Call2Recycle through the next phase of innovation and growth, building on the organization’s 27 years of program success and impact in Canada.

David Collie has extensive experience spanning over thirty years in a variety of leadership and management roles across the government, electric vehicle (EV) and energy sectors. He serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Welding Bureau and Vice-Chair of the Governing Committee of the Ontario Medical Association. David Collie succeeds Norman (Norm) Clubb, who will retire after serving as chairman since 2015. Norm Clubb’s leadership has played a key role in leading Call2Recycle through significant periods of growth, including expansion into new provinces and the emerging e-mobility and electric vehicle sectors, placing emphasis on safety.

“It has been an honor to serve as Chair of Call2Recycle for the past nine years and to witness the extraordinary progress of this organization and its impact on battery recycling in Canada,” said Norm Clubb, outgoing Chair of Call2Recycle Canada. “I have full confidence in David Collie’s ability to lead the Board and steer the organization toward even greater success.”

“On behalf of Call2Recycle, we would like to sincerely thank Norm Clubb for his invaluable contributions as Chair,” said Joe Zenobio, President of Call2Recycle Canada. “Welcoming David Collie to the Call2Recycle board, we look forward to his leadership and expertise as we continue to advance our mission of promoting battery collection and recycling in Canada.”

In addition to the appointment of David Collie, Call2Recycle recently welcomed three new board members who bring a wealth of experience and new perspectives: Alma ListenVice President of Strategic Development at Canadian Tire, who brings over two decades of progressive retail experience driving business growth and customer-centric strategies; Paul Nielsen, vice president and general manager of Canada’s live sports business, with over 35 years of cycling industry experience and strategic leadership; AND Mauro Godinhogroup manager for engineering and infrastructure services at Panasonic Canada with over 20 years of experience in the renewable energy sector.

These new appointments will further strengthen Call2Recycle’s diverse and experienced board of directors, consisting of dynamic, independent and member directors from a variety of industries related to the battery ecosystem. This will position the organization for its continued growth and success as a pillar of Canada’s circular economy.
