GCR’s Guide to Data and Antitrust Law – Competition Law and Data | Global law firm

Miranda Cole and Francesco Salis from our Brussels office are the authors of the chapter on the evolving view of data in the application of competition law. It was published in the first edition of Global Competition Review’s guide to data and antitrust law in May 2024. The chapter discusses the evolution in data assessment in competition law, mainly in the European Union (as EU competition authorities have conducted many investigations that have considered these issues) to provide context both for the current debate on the use of data in artificial intelligence (AI) and for legislation being adopted in an increasing number of jurisdictions.
