ZDF Studios appoints Eva Kamin as its new vice president of acquisitions and co-productions

Since June 2006, the director has been a corporate lawyer at ZDF Studios and is responsible for contract management for ZDF and ZDF Studios.

Eva Kamin will take up the position of vice president for acquisitions and co-productions at ZDF Studios from July 1. This follows the retirement of Volker Lehmann, who will leave at the end of June to take on new challenges after more than 30 years in licensing ZDF and the ZDF family of channels.

Eva Kamin has been a corporate lawyer at ZDF Studios since June 2006 and is responsible for contract management for ZDF and ZDF Studios. In 2011, she moved to the Acquisitions and Co-Productions department, where she was most recently responsible for licensing feature films and international co-productions in the area of series, framework agreements and partnerships on behalf of ZDF.

The director is a qualified lawyer with a master’s degree in media law from the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz.

“We are delighted that our new head of department is Eva Kamin. He has many years of knowledge about the market, ZDF partners and excellent relationships with international business partners,” said Dr. Markus Schäfer, president and CEO of ZDF Studios.

According to Schäfer, Kamin, as a media lawyer, is the ideal person for this position to negotiate program acquisitions and international partnerships that meet the programming needs of the ZDF network.

“At the same time, we would like to thank Volker Lehmann for his many years of work as a purchasing expert for international programs and department head. With his business and programming knowledge and personality, he has earned the respect of all our business partners,” he said.

Eva Kamin commented on her new position: “I am delighted to be entrusted with this important and exciting role. In today’s dynamic market environment, it is becoming increasingly important to negotiate acquisitions of international programs, co-productions, framework agreements and partnerships. I look forward to working with my team to contribute to ZDF’s success.”
