Pakistan offers huge opportunities for foreign investment in many sectors: ICCI

ISLAMABAD, June 14 (APP): Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari has said that Pakistan’s growing economy offers the Spanish corporate sector potential opportunities to earn attractive profits and long-term growth in various sectors.

He said this during a conversation with a delegation of the Spanish company GM DEFENSA, engaged in training activities, consultancy services and business opportunity research, including Franciso Galvan Pardo, Eloy Ariza Domingo, Shahbaz Muhammad Khatoon and Atif Muhammad Khatoon, a press release said. .

Ahsan Zafar said: “Spain is the world’s leading power in the olive oil and table olive sector, and food processing and expertise sharing in the solar and wind energy sectors could be a major breakthrough for Pakistan.”

“Pakistan is an excellent tourist destination, its textile industry and information technology sector are equally important for Spain.”

ICCI is happy to connect Spanish companies with Pakistan’s leading defense manufacturing institution, Defense Export Promotion Organization (DEPO), to set up joint ventures, he added.

Ahsan Zafar said, “Spanish investors may explore partnerships in the pharmaceutical and sports sectors, saying Pakistan also wants to access the Latin American market through Spain to explore business opportunities for the benefit of all stakeholders.”

DEFENSA GM Franciso Galvan Pardo said that the Memorandum of Understanding between the Madrid Chamber of Commerce and ICCI will go a long way to strengthening the close cooperation between the business communities of both countries and that their company will play its role for those in need.

Shahbaz Muhammad Khatoon said that he found Pakistan to be a completely peaceful, safe and secure country which is the best destination for investment, stating that Spain is a potential market for Pakistani rice and fertilizers and that the main purpose of their visit is to offer this opportunity to the Pakistani business community.

Former ICCI President Akram Farid briefed the delegation on the investment-friendly atmosphere in Pakistan, including a ten-year tax exemption on investments in economic zones, adding that Pakistan is a producer of the highest quality rice in the world, as well as pink salt, steel, Marble and flowers and Spanish the corporate sector can benefit from importing products.

United Business Group Sector General Zafar Bakhtawari said that Pakistan has a lot of goodwill towards Spain as both countries share a common history.
