AM Specialty uses Pinpoint insurance solutions

Texas-based AM Specialty Insurance Group, through its holding company AM Holding Company, has acquired Pinpoint Insurance Solutions, a national program administrator with general agency and surplus brokerage lines, for an undisclosed amount.

This growth coincides with the establishment of Pinpoint UK in London, marking AM Specialty’s expansion into the surplus and surplus insurance sector in both the US and UK.

Brad J. Sickinger, who founded MGA in 2021, will remain at its helm as president of Pinpoint US.

Meanwhile, the UK underwriting platform will be led by Darren Powell as director of underwriting at Pinpoint UK from September 2024. Additionally, Shaun Packman will oversee the operations of the London entity.

“This acquisition represents a significant step forward for us in enhancing our specialty insurance offerings,” said AM Holding Company CEO Shevawn Barder (pictured). “Pinpoint’s experience complements our strategic vision, enabling us to expand our reach and deepen our capabilities in key niche markets.”

Under the AM Specialty banner, Pinpoint will have access to the group’s robust infrastructure and resources needed to scale specialist surplus lines solutions.

Pinpoint joins other subsidiaries AM Specialty Insurance Company, AM Star Claims and AM RE Syndicate.
