Clean Energy increases the efficiency of LNG facilities in California

As the largest facility of its type in the southwestern region of the country, the Boron facility is currently capable of producing up to 270,000 gallons of LNG per day.

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. announced that construction of the third production train at its liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Boron, California, has been completed.

The Boron plant, already the largest of its kind in the southwestern United States, can now produce up to 270,000 gallons of cleaner-burning LNG per day, increasing the facility’s efficiency by 50%. This addition will enable supplies to meet growing demand for bulk LNG from customers looking to decarbonize their operations.

Pasha Hawaii, an important customer of the company, currently operates three LNG-powered container ships from the ports of Long Beach, Oakland and Honolulu.

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. is one of the country’s largest suppliers of clean fuel for the transport market. The company operates a network of 600 gas stations throughout the United States and Canada, as well as RNG production facilities on dairy farms.
